The first in a series of 4 productions, Tradition Rocks! Ode Expressions, starts off with the basic idea of fusing the different forms of story telling in a dance performance. Through the epic story of Ramayana, patrons will experience a thrilling sensory surge. From wayang kulit on-screen to live characterisation on-stage, transformed into dance interpretations, going back and forth coupled with traditional rhymes and rhetorics as well as the hypnotic gamelan music and enchanting traditional instrumentations like the flute and gong. All nicely weaved through the artistic direction by one of Singapore’s reknowned Malay artistic directors, Osman Abdul Hamid.

         Tradition Rocks! showcases EDT’s on-going efforts to revitalise traditional arts in today’s modern environment. At the same time EDT provides a platform for our members to grow through a holistic development programme that is piled and grounded with the knowledge of traditional arts.
